I had a bit of time to add some new backing tracks this month. Nearly forty in all. The newest tracks contain (0119) for January 2019 in the title so that regulars can easily identify the new tracks.

This newly added subscriber only section of the website allows us to add a few subscriber only freebies. The first is a series of videos for people just starting out on the Ukulele. It has been tested by children and adults alike with great success. The whole method is based on a self paced sing along approach, featuring Ukulele backing tracks.

KaraUkey 101 is a 15 page, A5 PDF book, featured on the KaraUkey 101 page on the website. The booklet is in direct response to questions about how Karaukey works and how best to try it on your  computer or tablet. There are lots of different karaoke Apps for different machines. We have selected the vanBasco Player for the screen shots because it is free for Windows based machines, is very reliable and is the most popular App used by KaraUkey enthusiasts.

Most of the other Apps have very similar capabilities. As more questions arise we can expand on the contents of the booklet.

KaraUkey screenshot and sound track

Thank you to those folks who have asked for this. Adding an example sound track of a KaraUkey song seems very obvious now that it has been suggested. This is an MP3 recording of the KaraUkey backing track for "Stuck in the Middle" .  I've added a static screenshot of the song as well. Thank you for the feedback.

Every Song has a Story

Adding the stories in the song description.

Because I'm expanding the site to allow people to buy individual songs, I now have images and description boxes for each "product" or song. So while I'm adding my songs to the Shop, I'm adding a bit of history about each of the songs. It makes the whole process a bit slower but it has also been a bit of fun.  Imagine a record company knocking back "Blueberry Hill "because in their opinion blueberries didn't grow on hills, or "City of New Orleans"  describing the events on an actual train journey.  In my own sets I like to add a little bit of history about a song or songwriter every here and there, to add a bit of interest to the song. I would like to go on but there's more songs to load up.

Ukey Easy Way

Ukey Easy Way MP4 Video Lessons

The Ukey Easy way series of MP4 videos is in response to the many people looking to take Ukulele lessons. It seeks to provide a little bit of Ukulele background, then provide a set of structured lessons each building on the next, and people can advance at their own pace. It brought my teaching background back into sharp focus. The lessons develop knowledge of chords, strumming and chord charts slowly and methodically to create a solid foundation for learning to play Ukulele. It includes sing along and play along sessions and real songs that most people will recognise. (published under licence)

The response from people who have used it has been very positive and in the case of my grandchildren I have seen the positive results first hand. The lessons are available to watch free in the subscriber section.

The Strum Class sets also build on strumming techniques and methods and include 23 complete Ukulele backing tracks to practice with.

Biting the bullet

We've finally bitten the bullet and upgraded the site to Ecommerce in order to allow us to offer individual songs for download. We've priced them at $1.49 each because in the case of a single song sale, most of that would go to paying Credit card fees and royalties, if a single song is sold. However we can offer significant discounts for a purchase of five songs or more using discount coupons. Original songs can also be offered as free downloads because no royalties apply for our own songs and we are happy to share.

Bumper Books are also very good value at 30 songs for less than $25 AUD (approx. $22.50USD)

We're uploading the individual songs and trying to add a little bit of interesting "song info" for each of the songs. So we have to do the research and just patiently add the songs one at a time.

We've added a FREE download of the vanBasco Player for people with Windows PC's. There are also links to free Trial versions of players suitable for MACS, iPads, iPads etc.

So if you want to try out KaraUkey you can download a free Windows compatible player or a free trial version of a MACS or iPad compatible player then download a free song and check it out.

Of course we continue to offer a 100% 30 day money back guarantee on anything you purchase. It's all about you having fun playing your Ukulele.

Thank you to all those folks who have supported our efforts. It truly is very much appreciated. Cheers and happy Ukeing.
